piece of grass -Stag Beetle 1
piece of grass is a one-of-a-kind art work made using "glass scraps" and "surplus chemicals" that have been thrown away.
In wet plate photography, chemicals are applied to glass to create a photosensitive plate, and an image is left on the glass plate. Usually, when we hold wet plate photography workshops or commemorative photo shoots, we use a large piece of glass that we cut to the size we need. At that time, it is glass scraps that come out inevitably. In addition, chemicals are often left over due to problems with expiration dates and work processes.
I wondered if I could make effective use of this material that would otherwise have been thrown away, and the result was the birth of Photo Fragments. No glass has the same shape.
The carefully selected box is lined with urethane with slits, and the glass can be stood up for viewing.
